Cookie Policy
Last updated: 5 September 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones Rajan Template (https://rajantemplate.co.in/) uses, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. It lets the site remember things between page views — for example, that you already dismissed a banner. Similar technologies such as local storage, pixels and web beacons work in comparable ways and are covered by this policy.
2. Categories of cookie used here
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to function. These cannot be switched off through our banner. Examples: cookies that keep the site secure, remember your cookie consent choice, or let a logged-in author use the WordPress dashboard.
| Cookie | Purpose | Typical lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Consent record | Stores which cookie categories you accepted | 6–12 months |
| wordpress_* / wp-settings-* | Login session and dashboard preferences for site authors only | Session to 1 year |
| comment_author_* | Remembers your name and email in the comment form, if you tick that box | Up to 12 months |
Analytics
Help us understand which guides are read and where readers drop off, in aggregate. We use Google Analytics via Google Site Kit.
| Cookie | Purpose | Typical lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishes one visitor from another | Up to 2 years |
| _ga_<ID> | Maintains session state for Google Analytics 4 | Up to 2 years |
Advertising
Set by Google and its advertising partners to measure ad performance, limit how often you see the same ad, and — where you have consented — personalise which ads you see.
| Cookie | Purpose | Typical lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| __gads / __gpi | Ad delivery, frequency capping and measurement | Up to 13 months |
| IDE / test_cookie (doubleclick.net) | Ad measurement and personalisation | Up to 13 months |
| NID (google.com) | Stores advertising preferences | Up to 6 months |
Cookie names and lifetimes are set by Google and can change. The authoritative list is in Google’s own advertising cookies documentation.
3. Consent
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, no analytics or advertising cookie is set until you give consent through our banner, in line with Google’s EU User Consent Policy. You can reopen the banner at any time to change or withdraw consent. Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot function without them.
4. How to control cookies in your browser
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking all cookies may break parts of this and other sites.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Safari: Settings → Safari → Advanced → Block All Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
5. Opting out of personalised advertising
- Google Ads Settings — turn off ad personalisation across Google services.
- aboutads.info/choices — Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out.
- youronlinechoices.com — European opt-out.
- Network Advertising Initiative opt-out.
Opting out reduces personalisation. It does not remove advertising from the site.
6. Changes
We update this policy when the cookies in use change. Questions: admin@rajantemplate.co.in.
